Square shaped Scots Pine chip bowl
The Scots pinecones were shredded and mixed with a biobased binder and cast on a hardboard base. The surface of the square was sanded down when it was flat. The biobased binder caused the hardboard base to curve upwards at the tips as it dried. Once it was set the surface was treated with a couple of layers of clear Shellac to make it better resistant to moisture.
